FIRST, SOME THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS...
Everyone who attended had a great time. This was not about "dwelling on the past", but rather continuing friendships that go back more than 50 years, sharing stories of kids, grandkids, travel, and other adventures -- and supporting a school that is truly amazing.
Bremen is now 62 years old, but you'd never know it. Look at the pictures -- the interior and grounds are pristine. The labs, resource centers, and academic support programs are 21st Century! The students have pride and spirit!
Here is a school where "diversity truly works" with a population of 40% Hispanic, 30% Black, and 30% White or other. The key is that the students are 100% Bremen Braves, and the rest doesn't matter.
Academically, they're doing great. 97% of the Freshman class never failed a course! Those who struggle academically are proactively supported. There is also "zero tolerance" for bad behaviour -- and the results show it.
Dr. David Kibelkis (Principal), Paul Rybarczyk (Associate Principal), and the entire Bremen staff deserve a lot of credit for what they are doing. Participating in reunion events like ours is just one small way we can give back to Bremen what it gave us -- i.e., a good start in life!
Enjoy the pictures!
